Produce Market

This is the finished mural for Limbo Produce Market at 4707 SE 39th Ave (next to Trader Joe's) in SE Portland. The owner wanted a mural that would fill up a big blue wall their store. He also wanted something that could be removed if they ever lost their lease. After running through a few ideas, I came up with this one. While I was working on the It's a Beautiful Pizza mural I saw a box of crushed #10 size cans. I realized that this recycled, free, available material could be a good ground for a mural. The cans were nailed to the panels using roofing nails. They were primed with metal primer and then painted with several layers of latex enamel. |

Limbo's owners were imediately recptive
to both the stripey snake imagry and the recycled material
concept. The final mural was made up of 10 - 4 foot x 4 food
plywood panels. |

Here's the digital sketch that we used
to present the idea to Limbo's owners. This was one of our
most successful and rewarding projects. It really livens up
the space and matches their beautiful organic fruits and vegtables.
